Hi

Any tips for gerber production. I can't put down parts on pads at 45 degrees as the pads do not show.

Image is left to right, gerbview, paste gerber in rvgerber 2.8 & paste & tracks in rvgerber v2.8.
I used standard gerber exports and the versatronics cam from this forum, bot the same. Eagle 6.4 Linux.

Thanks
Mike

I don't use the Gerber utility - not sure if anyone else here does.
Working from Gerbers isn't a very good way to go as you don't have all the component data.
Take a look at my import utility as this will get you straight to a TFR file from a CSV of part data.

A quick & dirty fix for the angle issue may simply be to rotate the parts to 90 deg, import, then tweak the rotations back in RV Setup

RV gerber only displays pads if they are gerber "flashes".

I just opened a paste layer generated by Eagle into GerbV.
When I highlight a regular pad it comes up as a "Flashed Aperture"
When I highlight a 45degree pad it comes up as a "Polygon".

Not sure if this is something that can be fixed in the Eagle CAM processor.
It certainly supports a number of Gerber variants so it might be worth
trying something other the 273x.

Alternatively, use my transfer file creator Eagle ULP. It's not perfect but
it hops over the need to send gerber and bom to RVgerber. I have done
a board with a 45 degree TQFP this way and is the reason I never noticed
this issue myself  8)

I just sticky'd Jason's utility for ease of finding.

I'll update the ULP that's attached over the weekend. I think I may have a newer/smarter one
that deals with parts which aren't in the CDF library better. I'l go rummage.
