Does anyone have some spare ones they want to sell, or know where I could get one from?

Cheers!

Mike

You can get the connectors from RS - unfortunately the pins come in packs of 50 or 100 - I think I have some though, as I was intending to make some slightly longer cables but haven't got round to it. Will have a look tomorrow.

Mike

RS part numbers for connectors :
114-8024 shell
114-8002 insert for male contacts)
114-8018 insert for female contacts
156-7267 male contact pk50
156-7273 female contact pk50

Farnell part numbers - do the contacts in packs of 10, but more expensive.
Socket Pk10
Pin Pk10
Hood (note wrong picture)
Shell for sockets
Shell for male contacts

If someone wants some contacts I have a pack of 50 each - will do a set of 7 pins and 7 sockets  for £10 inc UK post, Paypal only.

Just to confirm the 'ingredients' of a cable...

Male end uses:
7x crimp pins, Harting part "09 15 000 6101" - available in one-offs from Mouser (617-09-15-000-6101) and Farnell (165-3807) for about 50p each.
Male Insert, Harting part "09 21 007 3031" - widely available
Connector Shell, Harting part "09 20 003 0420" - widely available
Cable clamp, Harting part "09 00 000 5164" - stocked by Mouser and Farnell

Female end uses:
7x crimp pins, Harting part "09 15 000 6201" - available in one-offs from Mouser (617-09-15-000-6201) and Farnell (170-4240) for about 50p each.
Female Insert, Harting part "09 21 007 3131" - widely available
Connector Shell, Harting part "09 20 003 0420" - widely available
Cable clamp, Harting part "09 00 000 5164" - stocked by Mouser and Farnell

Cable used is 7 core (6 + Earth) unscreened YY-type cable, 1.5mm2 per conductor, ideally 10mm OD. Farnell part 189-1214 is about right.

You only need about 1/2 meter of cable to make up a lead for interconnecting adjacent feeders.

Connectors are wired 1-1, with 6 regular wires connecting pins 1-6, earth on pin 7 and no connection on pin 8.

Mike

Don't forget to double-check connections, as these cables carry a mix of mains and RS232!
