SOIC8 Plastic tubes
« on: November 02, 2020, 10:40:16 AM »
Hi, I am looking for some SOIC8 plastic tubes for my RV4S vibration feeder. I use 555 timers, which have a pcb landing of 5.4mm to the centre of the feet, a body width of 3.9mm and a total height of 1.75mm. Happy to pay for them and postage by paypal. any offers ? thanks Nick

I can try and remember not to throw some away, how many would you need? There are generally 3 types: a simple tube with deeper sides for the legs to run down, a more complex version with two ridges running down the the inside of the top of the tube that keep the SOIC  straight and the rarest version where the top of the tube has a profile. Do you have a preference? I find the first can allow a chip to rotate in the tube and jam given the chance, the other two don't allow this.

Gopher, many thanks, no preference just need to get hold of 4 tubes, as along with the 555's I use 3 other SOIC8 devices. Let me know when you have enough available and we can sort out details. cheers Nick
