Why won't it draw pins?

I'm fighting a job which a customer has given me, which uses an Altium job that duplicates many of my part names, but at random rotations. Pain in the arse, especially as it's got a wide mix of annoying parts.
Anyway, life would be easier if the preview screens would actually draw parts like I drew them in the CDF, instead of seemingly randomly picking black boxes for some parts instead, making it hard to tell if I've rigged the rotations right.
For instance, all the black boxes in the attached are SOT23, which the CDF editor reckons have 3 pins and a body.

Is it that all my hand-hacking of the cdfdata.dat file has broken something? Do you guys get sane previews?
(do the individual DAT files get used for anything?)

Cheers!

Have you possibly turned on Quick Sizes or whatever it was called for those packages? Pretty sure when you do that it just draws black boxes.

Hmm, it draws like that, doesn't it. It's turned off in the CDF editor, and tuning it on & off again doesn't seem to help. I'll have a look in the CDFDATA.DAT file, see if I can see a flag set differently between good'uns and bad'uns.
