Does anyone have the specification & manufacturer of the vacuum pump used on RV1 and RV4 machines?

Thanks in advance

Mike

Can't help directly but these people make some small pumps that may be worth a look :

Gopher,

The attached pictures are of a replacement pump purchased from davidc recently. Certainly looks a lot like yours - although i cant see all of the part numbers on yours.

Lol yes same one, We went direct, they did try a sneaky price hike from the initial quote but such tricks only work in larger companies where the left doesn't know what the right is doing. It even came in 2+ a bit weeks not the 6-8 they said it would.

Hi, bringing up an old thread. My pump went on my machine. Luckily I have a spare but want to get another in in case that one goes.

Strange thing is when I put it on my workbench power supply at 12V, the vacuum works perfectly. I now wonder if maybe the power supply in the machine is a little low. I notice that the pump changes pitch when the Z axis moves so the voltage must be dropping as well. Maybe I need to invest in a 12V switched mode power supply for it instead.

Just to be safe I would like to get a pump in so that I do have one spare. i found the link to the original manufacturer part.

I am in the UK, was hoping there might be a local distributor?

Also wondering if people had found any better/cheaper/stronger pumps?

Thanks

Hi trev,

I'm wondering what you did as I have a concern re components swiveling on the nozzle. Did you get a new pump or some upgraded power?

-150 mbar continuous is not much of a vacuum.

the vacuum pump on my vac former pulls -950 all day (leaks excepted)

There are plenty of cheap pumps on eBay with specs ranging up to -750mbar

I'd spend the £8 or so and see if a cheap one will work.
