I want to place some Luxeon Rebel LEDs..

Any tips on how to pick them up and image them ?

Can I pick up on the flat part with a standard nozzle, or do I need to make a shaped nozzle to keep the centre in the centre of the camera.

btw.. on a completely different subject, I found that 6oz fishing weights make ideal weights on the waste end of the tape, hooked on with paper clips..!

You can specify a pick offset in teh CDF to deal with the offset pick location. Imaging shouldn't be a problem.
An issue with silicone lenses is sometimes they stick to the nozzle - you may need to craft a teflon nozzle to avoid this & experiment with placement pressure.
I temporarily fixed it by spraying dry-film lubricant (essentially PTFE dust) onto the nozzle

Firstly you really ought not to pick on the lens - you can damage the chip and its bond wires inside quite easily. With Rebels its fortunate that you have a flat area down the front so I would pick from that. If you set 'Lock x' and 'Lock y' in the CDF file and set up the pick position for the feeder to be in the flat area then it won't creep to the centre of the package which would be no good for a Rebel.

The second problem with picking from the lens is that the smallest offset (as will happen naturally because of variations of position in the tape pocket) will cause the RV to pick slightly off lens centre, which in turn has a big effect in how flat the base of it is when visioning and placing.

[on your other point, a 'helping hands' makes an equally good weight... and it comes with convenient clips!]

If you set the correct pick offset it shouldn't be necessary to lock feeders, (assuming this function works correctly in the RV software of course!)
