Has anybody had problems with the addressing of the feeders? i have a feeder that works fine in position H (dip switch set 1=OFF 2=OFF 3=OFF) but in position G (dip switch set 1=ON 2=OFF 3=OFF) the feeder will not work. Iv had the feeder apart and there are no broken cables and the dip switch works fine, anyone have any other ideas to try?

Obviously i can still use the feeder but a little annoying having to move feeders around after setting the job up.

Mike

There is a utility called feedertest.exe in the install directory that may be helpful in figuring out what's going on as you can easily try the different addresses.
From memory I think you need to power cycle the feeder after changing the switch settings.
Considering the age, EPROM bit dropout is a possibility - if this is the case it should be possible to reprogram the  EPROM without erasing it first

Thanks for the speedy reply.... What would be the best way for me to reprogram the eeprom? should i read back the data from the eeprom of another feeder unit and reprogram the faulty one with what i have read back?

Mike

If you have a programmer that can adjust the supply voltage when reading, you may find it will read OK at low voltage (e.g.4.5v) but fail at higher voltages, so you may just be able to read at low voltage to get a good image, then re-program.
Attatched file is a ROM I've verified at high and low Vcc and against one from another feeder, so should be OK

You must power cycle if you change dip switch address as it only reads this on power up.

There was only one firmware release for the feeders, so no need to worry if that was the 'latest' version!
