I have just acquired an RV4S and feeders from a working environment but has a few minor technical issues.( I hope!)
The symptom that was described to me as the main problem is that the rotational placement of components (axis A rotation) was no longer accurate and that when this had happened previously a cable in the arm was replaced and this had fixed the fault.
The machine is working and I am just trying to get to grips with the software in order to replicate this problem and decide what to do. I have no intention of removing anything from the machine that could impact its current calibration.
Now my question is does anyone have any wiring diagrams for this machine in order to get an overview of how the various switches and assemblies are hooked up especially in the arm area.

Can't help with the diagrams but using the wrong tool, getting the comp height wrong and a whole host of other things can upset placement accuracy in all sorts of interesting ways, and it would seem strange for the exact same cable to go goofy twice on the same machine.
Of course it could just be the machine is old and worn out

Thanks for the reply and your comment on the cable which I agree sounds unlikely.
The machine is certainly old in P&P terms but there is nothing so far that can't be repaired/replaced.
The calibration procedure seems to be a black art which would seem to be the only way of telling if it is truly 'worn out' but time will tell.

 :)
Here is a PDF diagram of the RV4s stepper driver to motor wiring, it is not quite complete (missing wiring colour details as it passes through the machine and Z axis motor part number) but it has been enough to allow me to sort out my axis A rotation problem. Somehow an inline  connector was reversed which upset the phasing of the motor. The rotation is smooth now but I don't understand how it has happened, perhaps this occurred when the previous owner was having it repaired and there is another fault which I have yet to discover!
I have more wiring info for this machine which I will document as time goes by ....
