RV Software / Re: Custom software for RV1S/RV4S

I got armtest.exe and rvplace.exe controlling RV hardware Windows 10 64-bit
via my USB to ISA adapter.
rvplace will perform the initial homing and then perform the warmup  8)

However, I now have to do something about image grabbing.
Would anyone happen to have archived pxc_15.exe from the Imagenation
support site? This was a Win64 release of drivers according to this:

My Lower arm is about 275 degrees, upper arm is about 320 degrees when parked.

RV Software / Re: cw3230.dll

My first stop is to take the trapped I/O and pass it through to an FT2232 in
bus emulation mode so it will drive the original ISA card over USB. I've got
the bits sitting on the side here and will try to solder over the next few weeks.
However, a better solution might be to be to spin a USB card which doesn't
need to go via ISA.

I'm currently burning too much time finishing other projects and getting hit
with lab issues such as my GPSDO going intermittant and finding the critical
part is obsolete. <sigh>

They really follow on from the camera calibration routine (need to be done immediately after doing that).

Ah, this is brilliant, I had a long standing problem with rotated parts that I could never
cure using camera alignment alone. This is just the information that fixes it. Thank you!
When using the smallest parts, I had been laying boards out with as many components
at 0 degrees as possible  :o  I won't need to do that any longer!

The entire suite is win32 compatible apart from direct access to hardware.
I have rvplace running on Windows 10 by trapping the instructions which
access the hardware using a vectored exception handler. I'm gradually
catching up with all the half done jobs in the workshop and this is getting
to the top of the list to finalise and publish to you all.

Oooh, more PXC documentation. I'd started reverse engineering this so I could
replace the PXC board with a shim through to modern Windows capture subsystem
but it was slow going and I'd lost enthusiam a bit. This might give me the boost
to see it through, thank you!

Just to add, Alan said "usually" .....  the RV software is extremely tightly coupled to
the PXC library so there is no *easy* way to swap this out for anything else. (But I am
working on it!)

Yeah, when you use the installer it installs the pxc2 vxd in the windows system.

If that's not present the dll in the app directory tries to open a handle to the driver
and it fails.... not very user friendly as it could at least give a hint to what went wrong.

Sounds like a problem with the pxc200 image capture card driver.
Did you start from scratch or just do an in place upgrade from 95?
#25
Yeah, I get this, I don't know what causes it. I'm not using a stock motherboard, it's
some Pentium III thing, I don't remember the model (it might be genuine Intel one).
I'm on Win98SE + USB support.

Been out of the loop a bit... but after a quick scan I couldn't see a recently updated thread to answer my question.
So, what is the current state of self re-cal?

IF you edit biases then it should become reachable, unless it isn't
seated in one of the default positions and it truely isn't reachable
due to the arm arc.

If you think it's worth bagging, I have family who could cache it for a few weeks until we visit next.
But I don't really need it myself.
