RV Software / Re: Custom software for RV1S/RV4S
July 27, 2020, 05:45:10 PM
Some of the Chinese P & Ps may not be bad, but I want something that you can fix yourself.
I think most of the problems come from the old PC, ISA are dying out and Win98 has long been outdated.
And if a solution has been found here in the meantime, that would be great.

If I knew what happened in the individual modules and how they work together, I could perhaps help to replace parts.

What does the head/arm controller do? 12 & 9V, relay control and ?
Does anyone have information about the protokoll?

The hardware in the feeders is quite simple and can easily be updated on something new.
The connection of alternate feeders should also not be a problem.

Other software and controls would be an alternative.
But nothing that can be easily exchanged, except the PCB data.

The RV4S is working again, why?

Only the whole part recognition doesn't work so well anymore, but i'm working on it.

I changed the voltage regulator but nothing changes.
The voltage regulator also gets extremely warm.

An external power supply (9V 195mA) does not help either.
Checked the camera with a TV card and the pictures are the same.

I just don't believe that 2 cameras are defective at the same time.

I measured again exactly and I have on the connector with the 12V for the LED 8.58V.
So not exactly 9V can that be the problem?

And if so where is the voltage regulator?

Voltage on the camera is 9V and the plugs are also clean.

Does anyone have the pinout of the DSP board - RV box cable?

The PC is always on first, when everything is running I switch on the RV box.
The nozzle is clean!
The pictures are also good when I look at the 3 cameras in the Config menu.

The camera threshold should still fit, I've already placed over 30,000 parts with it.

I'll check the camera voltage.
I will also clean the contacts again.

Hello,
has something come out here after 5 years?

I like the software and hardware of the RV4s quite well and I would like to use them for years to come.
But as I get more and more hardware problems I am looking for an alternative in parallel.
I would prefer to only replace the hardware, but if necessary, I also change everything.

If someone needs help to get ahead, that's not a problem.
I would like to use my machine for a long time!

I know openPNP with GRBL motor drivers.
Logically, you can't just exchange them.
But maybe there is something already in that direction?
Has anyone done anything with it?

RV Hardware / OTF & ghost pictures
July 20, 2020, 04:31:26 PM
Hello,
I have had problems with the OTF camera for several weeks.
It started with the fact that I had gotten ghost pictures, after cleaning the contacts everything went again for a few days.
Then the lighting failed (cable break) and no component has been recognized since.
I cleaned the camera lens and the mirror.
In the setup menu I can see all pictures cleanly and the calibration works without problems.
Only in operation I have ghosting or pixels that are recognized as a component and thus interfere with the recognition.

Does anyone have a tip for me?

Hello.
I have a problem with rotated parts.
On a board (10*10cm) 95% of the components are in 90° and 5% in 0° on it.
All 0° components are incorrectly positioned 6-12MIL to the right.
The others are perfect.
Same components (1206 100nF   &  1206 10K)!

Now I have a new board where 99% are in 0° on it and I can see that the offset from left to right (20cm) increases from 6Mil to 20Mil.
Even a PLCC48 shifts from the left to the right side.

Does anyone have an idea what this could be?
Is it possible to move individual components around xMIL?

Regards, Dirk

I found it, in RV-Gerber you can specify any angle. I hadn't seen that before!

To make things easier, I turned the components back on the board (0 degrees) and then turned them to 45 degrees when placed.

RV Software / How do you place components in 45 degrees?
February 21, 2019, 12:14:40 AM
Hi,
I have a board on which 3 parts are placed in 45 degrees.
And Eagle can't produce reasonable pads for such components.
Now I ask myself the question: How do you place components in 45 degrees?

I find no menu item where I can specify the angle of a component itself.

General SMT / Re: Source of dispensing solderpaste?
December 28, 2018, 04:32:17 PM
Hello.
I just bought a DOTMASTER SMDU-5000.
Unfortunately, the serial cable is not included.

A standard cable seem not to work, does anyone have the exact assignment  DB9 (PC) -> DB25 (device)?

Regards, Dirk

RV Hardware / Re: PCs for RVs

I swapped the old hard drive for an SSD with an IDE-SATA adapter. There were no problems.

I just wanted to switch to XP.
For the PC hardware I am still looking for a suitable board.
I still have some old ones but they are all at least 10 years old.

RV Hardware / Re: O-Rings, Drive belts etc
November 09, 2018, 11:39:55 AM
Can someone tell me what those o-rings are on the nozzles (RVT03, RVT04 and RVT05)?

They are all damaged and the components are no longer properly held.

Dirk
