For Sale/Wanted, Suppliers / Z Motor
January 19, 2021, 03:06:31 PM
A long shot I know but I don't suppose anyone has any spares for the RV4s, mainly the Z axis motor (Sanyo Denki 103-4510-7040) or has anybody replaced this with an alternative in the past?

I would be grateful for any help or advise on getting this replaced.

RV Hardware / Feeder Problem
June 22, 2015, 03:15:09 PM
I have a problem with a feeder that will not start up properly. When you 1st turn the feeder on you hear some clciking sounds (index pin poping up and moveing forward and back) When I turn one of my feeders on the index pin pops up but never goes back down and therefore doesn't no perform the forward and back motion. The feeder is now stuck like this untill I remove power from the unit.

All that has happened to the feeder is all connections where removed from the PCB so we could machine a peice out from the front of the feeder and everything placed back in exactly the same place.

Also on this feeder we noticed a part has been added in (see picture) (maybe a DC to DC converter) has anybody seen anything like this and if so could you explain what this is for. I have opened up 4 feeders and this is the only one to have such a mod. "nd attachment show where wires are connected.

RV Hardware / On The Fly Camera Issue
May 28, 2014, 01:50:32 PM
I have a problem with my "on the fly" camera. When the machine takes a picture of the component with the "OTF" camera the image on screen shows the tool is in the dead centre of the component but in the real world it is actually picking towards one side of the component. Everything pictured using the fixed camera is fine.
The only thing I can think of happening between the machine being fine and me having this problem is that the lens of the camera fell off and we had to remove the camera to fit the lens back on and then reposition the camera.
Could this have caused the problem or does anybody have any other ideas of how to fix this problem or even what the cause could be?
Any sudjestions would be helpfull as im at a loss to what is happening

RV Hardware / Feeder Issue
August 09, 2013, 09:12:25 AM
Has anybody had problems with the addressing of the feeders? i have a feeder that works fine in position H (dip switch set 1=OFF 2=OFF 3=OFF) but in position G (dip switch set 1=ON 2=OFF 3=OFF) the feeder will not work. Iv had the feeder apart and there are no broken cables and the dip switch works fine, anyone have any other ideas to try?

Obviously i can still use the feeder but a little annoying having to move feeders around after setting the job up.

RV Hardware / Powering up Issues
August 02, 2012, 09:32:56 AM
I have a problem again with one of my RV4s. The are a few problems i have so will list them all

1, Sometimes when turning the pc on all 4 LEDs flash on the control card inside the pc as expected bt when loading a job all 4 LEDs flash in turn bt then no movement from the head?

2, Also when powering up the pc i have LEDs on the DSP cards stay on constant, not come on at all, flash at a different rate to the rest of the the LEDs

I can usually get the machine going but can take over an hour sometimes by the time iv powered the whole thing down and back up again (iv currently done atleast 10 power cycles this morning and still nothing) I have replaced DSP cards that i have found to be faulty and this cured the problem mainly but it seems to be getting worse rarther than better, also it can be random as to which DSP card hangs. Things also seem to improve after the machine has been sat doing nothing for a few days.

Any help welcome

Does anybody have any dimensions for the O-rings on the placement head or has anybody had to replace these before and could recommend where to get them from. I have noticed this is very critical to the vacuum seal on also the picking up of the tools.

Thanks in advance as i'm sure somebody will be able to help

RV Software / Less Than 2 References in Job
June 06, 2012, 05:23:55 PM
On returning to my machine after the bank holiday after trying to open the job film in RV place i received an error message saying "Less the 2 References in Job" Has anybody ever seen this messages before? Also upon trying to find the root of the error i tried to open the same job in RV setup and when opening up the feeder allocation i get an error message saying "Incomplete Job" i only ran the job a few days ago and everything was fine. Has anybody else ever come across this problem? Has the file just become corrupt?

RV Hardware / Powering Up Issues
May 31, 2012, 05:15:48 PM
I am having trouble with my RV4s machine powering up, when i turn the PC on the 4 lights on the card inside should flash together, right? The problem im having is the LED on the card closest to the back of the PC hangs and then flashes in a different sequence. Any ideas what this could mean?

Also after letting the PC boot up i wait power the RV4s bt nothing happens and i just get a series of "Write readnotbusy error" messages untill im told to correct the fault and restart the machine at witch point the arm will sometimes jerk backwards. Power cycling the PC and machine sometimes corrects the fault but as you can imagine this is a bit of a pain and does not always work. Any ideas to my problem would be much appreciated
