Title: Burnt out feeder solenoids
Post by: Sysols on November 28, 2011, 12:08:04 PM
We have a Flexiplace 80 Pick and Place machine bought a few years ago as a replacement for an RV4s. We chose it because it uses the same feeders and fits into the same cabinet as the RV4s. It is a good machine and has excellent software but we believe we have one of only three that were ever made. Due to lack of support we are having to service this machine ourselves. We have traced much of the circuitry and parts but currently have a problem with a feeder: We have found that serveral of the solenoids have burnt out. We have not been able to find a source for these and are hoping that someone can point us in the right direction. There must be a reason for this fault and suspect that there may be a fault on the driver board so any information about this would also be gratefully received. The controller board is version 1.01 dated 1992.

Are the solenoids the same as the RV? If so I have a scrap feeder that could be cannibalised.
