Title: The Elephant :)
Post by: alanambrose on February 14, 2026, 10:28:05 AM
I have an RV1S which was good when I put it into storage ... during Covid. Reluctant to get rid of it, but it's taking up space. I really don't want to take it to the skip, but ...

Any thoughts? How many people are using these now? I also have an old Concorde airframe.

OK just joking on that last one.

Judging by ebay sales, demand is pretty low to nonexistent.
Since the advent of easy-to use and insanely cheap assembly services like JLCPCB, I'm using mine way less nowadays - just the odd prototype run with few BOM lines and enough parts to be easier than hand placing.
Forget the skip - there's a few quids' worth of scrap metal.
Shame but it had a pretty good run 30-odd years & still entirely useable, just fewer and fewer use cases.
