Title: Cabinet closed detection
Post by: lax on August 27, 2025, 05:25:05 PM
Hi,
I have recently obtained An RV4s which I am now learning to use. Initially I had problems with the "Arm board not detected", but that has now been replaced with "Cabinet cover not in place". After a quick view I see that the wire from the cabinet closed switch appears to be cut and I also noticed that the 9 way D connector next to the 37 way D connector is missing as well as the DIN audio connector next to the 25 way D connector is also missing. Can anybody tell me what these missing plugs might do and if they are related to the Cabinet closed switch?

Thank you for any help offered.

Alex

I think most users disabled the cabinet switch as it's too annoying. I'm told it can be useful to be able to manually operate though, as it slows down some operations, making debugging easier.
If I recall correctly, the cabinet switch connects via a DIN plug into the base.

Thank you Mike for your speedy response. I have checked out the switch and it seems that it is shorted when the lid is down, so having no plug on the DIN connector is not going to help. I will now hunt around for the plug.

Thanks

Alex

Just unscrew the activator from the lid and poke it into the switch sensor.
At least that is how mine was when I bought it :)
