Title: Feeder indexing pin
Post by: Mpbrock on April 07, 2019, 07:58:11 PM
Hi

I've got a 10x8 feeder grey type where the index pins aren't moving in the Z direction, is this a fault anyone's seen before? They move back as forth in x but don't lift up to engage the tape (I've tried all 10 - none lift up)

Thanks in advance

Matt

Pins can get sticky-they clog  with dust from paper tapes. A fatal mistake is to use oil to lubricate, as this forms a sticky mess with  paper dust.
Assuming the solenoids are working, you probably nee to strip down and clean, with a non-oily cleaner

I have come across a couple of feeders where the solenoid driver on the control board had died. I don't think you can get that particular one any more, though it was massively over spec'd anyway.
