Title: components left to place
Post by: Mickyblueeyes on April 28, 2015, 08:56:06 PM
Very confused newbie, I have finally got to a position where I can place parts but having placed a pcb where errors occurred I manually placed the parts missing and went to go on to another board, my problem is that the machine still thinks there are 2 parts left to place which it will happily place on top of the existing parts but after that they are still listed as being unplaced, I have tried using the reset components button but is doesn't change anything, there are no errors listed and no matter what I do the machine seems to be stuck like this, any ideas!.

regards

Mike

It will reset the placement by itself once it has done everything, including parts that had errors.
The reset button should clear everything ready for a new job regardless, and show the full number of parts to be placed (apart from any omitted feeders).

The "parts to place" count is the number it will actually try to place at that point in time, and excludes any parts that are pending due to errors.

Clearing errors will reset the "parts to place" count to the number of parts that can now be placed due to cleared errors.

Hi Mike, I did understand the sequence it just wouldn't work, in the end  I had to rebuild the job file through RVSETUP  with a new name and I have placed 70 boards now.

This is almost true - however, if you've placed everything available, and then unomit a line, it'll place those parts if you ask, rather than starting a whole new board. (I discovered, to my surprise and joy, thought I was going to have to handplace those...)
