Title: RV1S doing non-SMT stuff (also die bonding)

There I was, looking for suppliers of bare die, since I've had a few customers sniffing around wondering if I can do bonding for LCD controllers, when I saw an old friend!

Do any of you chaps have any experience of wire bond work? A recent score on ebay means I should have a bunch of machines to play with in the new year. I'm expecting a bit of a learning curve...

I doubt that RV has much to do with die bonding - could be repacking parts into trays or something like that

Oh, absolutely - just decanting from tray to tray, picking from gel-packs into waffle trays and the like. You could, maybe, get it to place the die on boards, since that's a manual thing sometimes - the wire bonding machines can tolerate a lot of die misalignment.
I just thought it was nice to see one in the wild!

I'd say its an unfortunate choice of a 'stock' photo used on the page linked above. If it is their own picture, they probably didn't have anything better to picture!
