Title: Placement Head O-rings
Post by: lurowl on June 15, 2012, 09:34:56 AM
Does anybody have any dimensions for the O-rings on the placement head or has anybody had to replace these before and could recommend where to get them from. I have noticed this is very critical to the vacuum seal on also the picking up of the tools.

Thanks in advance as i'm sure somebody will be able to help

I find that a tiny trace of silicone grease (from plumbers shop) works a treat. Do NOT use any oily lubricant as this attacks rubber.

I assume this is to improve the seal? I actually need new O-rings as the originals have split

An old one I have here measures 1mm thick, OD10mm, ID 8mm

When I got my machine, ISTR the belts etc. came out of a bag from these people:
www.bearingtraders.com/

These look like they might do :

I just ordered some - will report back.

The Ebay ones above are NOT the right size - they are 10mm ID, not OD.

A google for 8mm 1mm O-ring produces a few possibles so should be some hope of finding something
